Check the simple causes first

A starter that only clicks or turns slowly is often a battery or connection problem rather than the motor. Charge or test the battery first (the battery chart lists the factory size for every model), then check the starter relay, the main fuse and the heavy cable to the motor before replacing the motor itself.

How to confirm fitment for your exact model

Model names repeat across years and regions, so the safest way to order the right starter motor is to confirm it on your model's own diagram:

  1. Find your machine. Pick it on the All Models page, or decode your VIN with the VIN lookup to land on the exact model year and colour.
  2. Open the diagram. The exploded views mirror KYMCO's factory fiche; the diagram cards on this page show which drawing the starter motor sits on.
